October 7, 2010 – LED-lights are relatively new. These include light bulbs, fluorescent and halogen lamps. LED stands for light emitting diode. Most people think that this kind of lighting is good; however, there is also a dark side to it.

Some led grow lights produce ultraviolet and infrared light next to the blue light. While the human eye can not see ultraviolet or infrared light, they’re both dangerous. UV light can damage not only the eyes but also the skin. This kind of led grow lights should only be used for scientific purposes in controlled environments or processes. Infrared light can be easily found to damage nearby electronics, or at least reduce the use of electronics.
