February 19, 2012 – BP oils spill claims are claims made by those who were very much affected by the oil spill that happened in Deepwater Horizon in the coast of Mexico. Due to the oil spill, the livelihood and businesses of the people were compromised, if not totally destroyed. Farmers who were very much dependent on the shrimps and crabs harvests are not able to continue with the kind of life that they were used to. Where will they get their daily earnings now that the sea is already destroyed? This problem is idiosyncratic in nature. Like in the Philippines you cannot teach the tribal groups to do another job simply because they are not accustomed to do anything other than what they are doing. That is the same case with the fishermen and harvesters in Deepwater Horizon. It would be very difficult for them to shift to other ways of living. As with the business men, not only they are affected with the tragedy. The economy also suffers. Why, where would consumers go now? How will the government fill the loss in the annual revenue? The tragedy really affected almost all details in the locality.
To remedy the loss of the people, BP or British Petroleum offered that victims file BP claims provided that lawsuits also will not be filed against it. These claims contain the exact value of the loss like the supposed to be monthly income, type of damage, basic personal information, among others. These claims should be filed at GCCF of Gulf Coast Claims Facility offices. Although the filing of claims does not involve too much security, many still chose to hire lawyers to do the legal measures in behalf of them. And it was proven to be beneficial and effective considering the number of claims refused in the past months.
